Andy joined The Downs Malvern in 2022 after serving as Deputy Head at Windlesham House School. His career has taken him from Cheam School in Hampshire to The Banda School in Nairobi, where he met his wife, Polly. A Zoology graduate from Imperial College London, he initially considered a PhD in Quantitative Genetics before pursuing teaching. Supported by an Army bursary through university, he later earned a Master’s in Educational Leadership and Management, shaping his approach to challenge, resilience, and individual potential.
Passionate about education and the outdoors, Andy thrives on the variety of school life; whether leading an assembly, running across the Malvern Hills, or planting seeds with Pre-Prep. With interests ranging from natural history and wildlife photography to farming, he brings an energetic and hands-on approach to life at The Downs Malvern.
