From fireworks to fundraisers, The Friends of The Downs Malvern provides a vibrant community experience with social events available throughout the year.
We’re incredibly proud of our community spirit at The Downs Malvern and believe it’s integral to our children thriving at this extraordinary school.
For the duration of the time that your child attends The Downs Malvern, you are automatically a member of the Friends of The Downs. We hope you will find that getting involved helps you to integrate into our community quickly and effectively.
Our main aims are to provide opportunities for the whole school community to connect, to fundraise for charities and projects to enhance the school environment, to operate the onsite Second-Hand Uniform Shop, and to offer social opportunities throughout the year.

Before joining, the school will provide contact details for the Parent Ambassador linked to the year group that your child is joining.
Please contact them directly, so they can invite you to join your year-group-specific WhatsApp group, to share and receive helpful information and reminders about Friends of The Downs events.
Your Parent Ambassador will be a great source of informal, friendly know-how about the school.
Your Parent Ambassador will be able to guide you through your first year with reminders and information where necessary, such as uniform requirements for specific events.
Come along to our whole-school social events – sometimes with your child and sometimes without.
You may also want to volunteer to help at one of our social events, be a Parent Ambassador yourself, or help in another way, such as joining our Committee. These are all great ways to meet new people and support the school.
Our core Committee includes a Chair, Vice Chair, Secretary, Treasurer, Marketing Rep, Second Hand Shop Rep, Railway Liaison and a few general Members, all of whom plan community social events and raise funds for school enhancements that extend beyond the school’s budget.
Our Committee Members also represent individual year groups, in a role that we have named ‘Parent Ambassador’, providing support to both new and existing parents with helpful information and informal reminders.
