Introducing our Houseparents...
John and Sarah Warlow are the Houseparents, as well as being dedicated to the boarding school community they both teach at the school. John teaches History and Boys’ Games and Sarah teaches French. They have worked in Prep School boarding for about 20 years.
“From our first visit to the school and Boarding House, we were struck by the friendliness and enthusiasm of both children and staff and were bowled over by the stunning location, which has to be one of the most inspiring places to live and work in the country. We live in the main building with our two children, Sam and Jess, and our Cocker Spaniels, Max and Freddie. We very much enjoy working alongside the experienced, dedicated and talented boarding team."
As well as our Houseparents, our boarders are supported by a resident team of teaching and non-teaching staff with many years of boarding experience. In the evenings and at weekends, day staff can always be found around the House, bridging the transfer from day to boarding life. Senior Matron Mrs Mandy James and Mrs Teresa Smith Matron,are on duty all night to look after anyone feeling unwell.
Boarding at The Downs Malvern is very much based on feeling happy and safe, as well as having a lot of fun.
