When we asked some of the current boarders how would you describe boarding at The Downs Malvern in three words, this was their reply!

'Relaxing, comfortable, social'

'Best place on earth!'

'Sense of family'

Day to Day

Each day begins with a healthy, nutritious breakfast before children join the day students for lessons.

Supper is at 6pm, but there are also healthy snacks and hot chocolate, if required, before going to bed.

During the evenings and at weekends, the children enjoy use of the Games Room, where there are table tennis and pool tables, table football, and a relaxing quiet area.

Fun and games are had before 'lights out' and bedtime is for sleeping - all boarders need their rest to stay healthy and happy!

If boarders happen to feel homesick for a short time, there is always a member of staff on duty to talk to – everyone on the boarding team is here to help.

Activities

Life is never dull when you are a boarder at The Downs Malvern!

During the week there are lots of activities to keep the children busy, from Yoga, Just Dance and board games to night walks, games on Brock Meadow and Movie and Popcorn Nights.  The children make full use of the pool table and table tennis table, with weekly competitions, and keep their brains working with our Quiz Nights.  There are outings to local sports events and lectures and at the end of all that a firm favourite, especially in the winter months, is hot chocolate with the House parents.

At the weekend, trips are planned once the children have finished their Saturday morning activities.  Trips have included apple pressing, Drayton Manor Theme Park, an Escape Room, a day out at the seaside and so much more.
