Arts and extra-curricular activities are crucial to the philosophy of The Downs Malvern, and every child is afforded the opportunity to develop beyond their academic achievements into well-rounded individuals as well as express their natural talents.

Creative Arts occupy a central place in the school calendar, with art, music and IT activities such as concerts, plays and exhibitions supplementing formal teaching. Pupils are encouraged to learn to play instruments and speed and drama lessons are offered - LAMADA examinations.

Trips to museums, art galleries and theatres and visits by professional musicians provide further stimulus and inspiration. The school's Hobbies programme on Saturday mornings provides many opportunities, including the schools very own miniature steam railway, 'The Downs Light Railway'.
