Here at The Downs Malvern, we are extremely fortunate to have fantastic grounds and pitches available to our cricketers. The main square is of a high-quality, set in the most beautiful surroundings.

All of our boys and girls have the opportunity to play in competitive matches against other Prep schools, and the recent introduction of girls cricket has proven to be a huge asset and development at the school. We select up to three Senior teams for both boys and girls, four teams at Under 10 and Under 11 age groups, and up to three teams for the Under 8 and 9 children.

The aim for the Seniors is to play at least two fixtures per week where possible, and the other days are spent coaching the basics and encouraging the children to indulge the passion for the game. We are lucky to have a superb indoor facility with four nets and a much-used bowling machine, three well-maintained grass squares, and three grass nets.

Over the past few years, we have had many boys and girls play representative cricket for Worcestershire, Gloucestershire and Herefordshire with great success. Our under 13 boys and girls have won The Downs Malvern 6-a-side and Malvern College's Eights respectively in recent seasons, along with the Under 11 boys being crowned champions of the Eights in 2018.

All of the staff at the school have great experience in Prep school cricket, and some staff have played cricket themselves to a high level. Our main aim in the Summer Term is to instil a love of the game whilst adhering to the etiquette of the game.
