Our extensive Hobbies programme on a Saturday morning epitomises the school’s attitude that children are capable of anything, both within the classroom and beyond.

Breadth and diversity are crucial to the philosophy of The Downs Malvern and, therefore, all children in the Prep school take part in the school’s Hobbies programme on Saturday mornings.

On a Saturday morning children are given the opportunity to diversify their interests and experiences in hobbies such as cookery, a school production, pottery, art, photography, gardening, fitness circuits, fencing, mountain biking, computer coding, orchestra, badminton, chess, Downs TV, outdoor explorer and railway engineering to name but a few.

During the school week we appreciate that parents need the flexibility of collecting their child different times. Each day, pupils can participate in an activity of their choice between 5pm and 6pm. The children have the opportunity to choose from an eclectic range of activities; such as swimming, Multi Sports, Science Club, Adventure Games, Film Club, strategy board games, hockey, tennis or crafts. Pupils also have the freedom to choose extra studying, reading or to practice their musical instrument.

We find the activities programme is a very popular aspect of life at The Downs Malvern. .
