Selecting the right school for your child is one of the most important decisions you can ever make for them, and it’s my role at The Downs Malvern to help you decide whether we will be the best possible foundation for their education.
I’m here for you throughout that journey – from taking your initial enquiry through to arranging for you to visit or talk to our Headmaster, explaining our bursaries and scholarships and answering all your queries along the way. If you do choose us, then I will also be the one making sure your child is assigned all the support they need to make joining us a smooth and enjoyable experience.
Having brought my own two children here to be educated, I promise that I do understand the concerns and questions that all parents have. Spending part of my time teaching also ensures I can see the education children here receive first-hand.
Children come to us at all stages from nursery up to Year 8, and often from other schools in this country or from abroad, so we are well used to ensuring that they settle in quickly: our strong pastoral care and the way our pupils themselves take on the role of “Buddies” to their new classmates are just part of what makes ours such a kind and caring community.
I’m often asked by prospective pupils’ parents: “What’s so special or different about The Downs Malvern?” Academic excellence is a “given” in a school like ours. But we also place enjoyment at the very heart of education and that shines out of the children here. If you visit us you’ll find that our pupils are our very best ambassadors: exuberant, energised children fired with enthusiasm for everything they do and passionate about learning.
